Naomy Briston has over 25 years’ experience as an artist and printing workshop facilitator in silk screen and stencil printing. Her work is known for her unique rainbow printing style and contemporary interpretartions of tradition motifs from her ancestry.
Naomy’s creativity is inspired by her spiritual connection to Country. She is from the Larrakia community (on her mother’s side) – the traditional owners of the greater Darwin region. Her father grew up on Bathurst Island. When young, her family took her on hunting trips so she would understand nature and her culture.
Numus is the nickname Naomy’s family gave her when she was young.
